Q: What do Ah, mAh, and V mean on a battery?

A higher Ah number (e.g., 5.0Ah) means a longer runtime before the battery needs to be recharged. Within the same voltage system, you can almost always use a higher Ah battery for longer performance.
  • V (Voltage): This is the most critical factor for compatibility. Think of it as the type of fuel the car needs. You must match the battery's voltage to the tool's voltage platform (e.g., an 18V battery for an 18V tool). Using the wrong voltage can permanently damage both the tool and the battery.
